. Value Added & Secondary Operations
- Drilling - Plastic parts can be post drilled to a variety of different diameters and hole heights.
- Hot-Stamping/Printing/Decorating/Labeling - Molded and extruded parts can be printed or hot stamped with PMS matched color inks. Most plastic materials are readily printable and options are offered for surface preparation of difficult materials such as polyolefins.
- Assembling - We can do simple part to part assembly as well as multi level assemblies involving many parts and custom packaging.
- Ultra Sonic Welding - We use the method of joining plastics using vibratory mechanical pressure at ultrasonic frequencies. The ultrasonic vibrations generate frictional heat to melt plastics allowing them to join. S & L Plastics will work with you on the design of the proper jig and fixtures for your plastic weld requirement.
- Special Packaging - We can package using custom boxes, poly bags, labels or any other special requirement- just ask!
- Gluing - Glues can be used to bond plastics. Glues are specially chosen based on the resin of the parts being joined. For hard to bond resins, slurries may be used to give best part adhesion.
- Insert Molding - We can overmold plastics over metal, aluminum, etc Often used for molding metal inserts into parts.
- Mitre Cut Ends - Ends of extruded parts can be cut at various degrees of angle both at machine or post operation depending on tolerance and quantity requirements.
- Slitting - Rolls can be slit as narrow as 9/16" wide strips.
- Annealing - Parts can be heated up to a temperature near, but below their specific plastic meting point, for a period of time to relieve internal stress without part distortion.
- Bending - Parts can be bent to different configurations of angles.
- Chamfer - Ends of rods can be fabricated to have corners broken or rounded or radiused to a specific angle.
- Tape Application - Parts can be masked or have tape applied both on and off line. Tape may be mylar, single adhesive, double sided, etc.
- Punching - Parts can be punched or notched in your specific hole shape and/or pattern.
- Tumbling - Finishing operation used on small plastic parts. Helps remove gates, flash and break sharp corners.
- Customer Specific Lab and Quality Testing - Many customers have very specific testing required that relates to their end product use. We will set up a testing procedure specific for your part to assure consistency and quality. Tests can be maintained by our Q.A. Dept. in house, or sent out with each shipment.
